I’m such an avid fan of South Indian food, especially idlis. And I love Gunpowder. But most of the gunpowder/ podis that I’ve tried are just unbearably hot and spicy. So much so that I can’t make out the difference in flavours or other spices because of the extreme chilli level. But I was so happy with the Tamil Podi from Rapidli. It’s medium spicy but not overpowering with very well rounded flavours. I think children can also consume it quite easily. Kudos to this brand. Can’t wait to try their other flavours. PS: I use it in salads also as a dressing 🙂

Questions before the first spoonful?

Here are the practical answers. Each product page has its own ingredients, nutrition information and usage details.

What is podi?

Podi is a dry chutney powder. Rapidli’s current podis are regional blends you can sprinkle over food or mix with ghee, oil or curd.

Do I need to cook it first?

No. Our podis are ready to eat. Try a little on idli, dosa or warm rice, then adjust to your taste.

Which flavour should I try first?

Karnataka and Tamil are medium spicy, Kerala is milder, and Andhra is the hottest in the current range. Start with the meal you’ll pair it with and the heat you enjoy.

Can I use podi with North Indian meals?

Yes. Sprinkle it on eggs or vegetables, stir it into curd for a dip, or try it with rice and ghee. The flavour pairing is yours to explore.

Where can I check ingredients, allergens and nutrition?

Read the label and the relevant product page for the specific blend. Benefits and nutrition values differ by product and serving size.

How should I store an opened pouch?

Reseal it tightly after use and follow the storage directions on that pouch. Use a clean, dry spoon each time.
